Founder

Shakila Sattar is a social entrepreneur and Co-founder of The Earth Society, a prominent youth-led non-profit organization and the secretariat of Climate Parliament Bangladesh. With a strong focus on capacity building for youth, under her leadership, The Earth Society has expanded its impact by working on Climate Change and Climate entrepreneurship development in Bangladesh, collaborating with a network of 35 community partners nationwide. This has resulted in the creation of a powerful ecosystemof change agents.

Shakila’s innovative initiatives include founding The Climate Camp since 2021, which aims to sensitize youth on preserving and restoring the environment through creative imagination, innovation, and local community action. Additionally, she successfully organized Climate Expo 2023, providing a platform foreco-entrepreneurs and enterprises with nature-based solutions.

Academically, she holds an M.Sc in Innovation, Strategy, and Entrepreneurship from Grenoble Ecole deManagement, Berlin campus with distinction. Her hands-on experience includes designing sustainable social business models for marginalized communities and engaging in international youth exchange programs.

Beyond her local impact, Shakila’s commitment to social good extends globally. She has served as a Project Coordinator and Working Student with The DO Company in Germany, contributing to a sustainable, innovative, and equitable economy. She coordinated an international training program on Intrapreneurship and Competitiveness for the Development Academy of the Philippines to enhance MSMEs’ competitiveness in the light of Industry 4.0. Additionally, she worked with UN Women on TheDO’s Industry Disruption Project.

She was a founding member of Bag Bringers Generation, a movement that successfully campaigned for the banning of plastic bags in Kathmandu, Nepal in 2011.

She keeps pushing with initiatives that can create real impact. She has the true spirit of global citizenshipand loves to explore nature, culture & diversity through travelling. In her spare time, she loves doing yoga, singing and travelling.
