Hello! I’m Jimran Mohammad Saiak from Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. I am a Climate Campaigner and District Coordinator of YouthNet for Climate Justice Cox’s Bazar Unit. I am a young change maker deeply involved in climate and environmental activism along with various voluntary jobs along with country’s key young climate advocate who coordinates the network developing and strengthening sector of the largest youth network YouthNet for Climate Justice and the local Cox’s Bazar team of the organization. Well, I’m also a Master Facilitator at YouthNet where I give training and mobilize numerous youths regarding climate action. I’m an active member of the global youth movement Fridays for Future’s Bangladesh country chapter and also a member of with Bangladesh Model Youth Parliament and the British Council’s Active Citizen Program. PBT graduate at SURGE Bangladesh.iam received ‘International Youth Day-2020’ outstanding youth appreciation for dedication and devotion in promoting youth volunteers. 2nd Runner-up at ‘Youth Climate Hackathon 2021’ at YPSA and one of the finalists at the Youth connect youth program at Activista Bangladesh of Actionaid Bangladesh. I also received a special award from Youth Forum for Social Justice for my service during critical moments at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. Other than all these, I’m also placed in the top 20 in Divisional round 5th Dutch Bangla Bank Bangladesh physics olympiad 2015. My dedication to achieving climate, gender and other social justice inspires me to be an ideal responsible youth for our society, country and our planet.
In this Climate Camp Season 2, I am taking initatives to host a climate literacy event in my district . We will be mobilizing youth groups through climate change related knowledge sharing and capacity building sessions to combat this climate crisis together.
