Job Context

  • The Earth, a Non-Profit Organization dedicated to community development, youth engagement, and volunteerism, is seeking a dynamic Learner Mobiliser for a project to drive positive change and efficiency in Bangladesh. This position will be based in the Khulna Region. The strategic partners for the project are Department of Youth and Development (DYD), National Youth Council (NYC), National Skills Development Authority (NSDA), Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB), USAID, ILO, EU, and the World Bank.
  • The “Bangladesh Integrated Journey of Empowerment and Employability (BIJOYEE)” Is a comprehensive Initiative focused on empowering and engaging young people in Bangladesh. It aims to address various aspects of youth development, including education, skill-building, employment, entrepreneurship, civic engagement, and social inclusion. Through this integrated approach, the program aims to provide opportunities and support systems that enable youth to thrive, contribute to society, and become active participants in the nation`s progress. The project focuses on the youth (18-35) who are not in education employment or training (NEET) and who are living at or below the poverty line (15% will be EET).
  • As a Learner Mobiliser for the “Bangladesh Integrated Journey of Empowerment and Employability (BIJOYEE)” project, the role is to actively engage with and mobilize learners to participate in the various activities and initiatives of the project. BIJOYEE aims to empower and support youth amongst the NEET Community in Bangladesh, and the primary responsibility is to identify and recruit learners, create awareness about the project, and facilitate their involvement.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct research, outreach, and networking activities to identify potential learners who could benefit from the BIJOYEE project. This may involve visiting educational institutions, community centers, youth organizations, and other relevant platforms.
  • Promote the BIJOYEE project. Develop and implement strategies to create awareness about the BIJOYEE project and its objectives. Use various communication channels, such as social media, community events, presentations, and partnerships, to reach out to learners and their families.
  • Organize and conduct information sessions to provide learners with a comprehensive understanding of the BIJOYEE project, its activities, and the benefits of participation. Address their queries, concerns and encourage them to get involved.
  • Establish strong relationships with learners, their families, and key stakeholders, such as educational institutions, local authorities, and community leaders. Foster trust and credibility to ensure the active engagement and participation of learners.
  • Assist learners in completing the necessary enrollment and registration processes for their participation in the BIJOYEE project.
  • Provide guidance on the requirements, deadlines, and documentation needed.
  • Serve as a point of contact and provide ongoing support to learners throughout their involvement in the project. Address their questions, concerns, and challenges, and provide them with necessary information and resources.
  • Regularly monitor and track the engagement and participation levels of learners in the project. Identify any barriers or issues that may hinder their involvement and take appropriate measures to address them.
  • Work closely with the project team, including project coordinators, trainers, and other stakeholders, to align learner mobilization efforts with the overall goals and objectives of the BIJOYEE project. Provide regular updates on learner recruitment and engagement progress.
  • Maintain accurate records and databases of learners, their contact information, and their participation status. Ensure data privacy and adhere to relevant regulations and policies.
  • Any other tasks that are assigned by the supervisor.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in any discipline
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as social sciences, education, or community development. A focus on youth development is advantageous.

Additional Requirements

  • Age at most 30 years
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively engage and communicate with learners, families, and stakeholders from different backgrounds. Proficiency in both English and Bengali languages is required.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills. Ability to establish and maintain relationships with learners, families, educational institutions, community leaders, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Genuine passion for empowering and supporting youth in Bangladesh. Understanding the challenges and opportunities faced by young people and a commitment to making a positive impact.
  • Good organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple activities simultaneously.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively and adapt to challenges. Proactive in finding solutions and overcoming obstacles.
  • Willingness to work during flexible hours.
