Job Context

  • The Earth Society, a Non-Profit Organization dedicated to community development, youth engagement, and volunteerism, is seeking a dynamic Area Manager for a project to drive positive change and efficiency in Bangladesh. This position will be based in the Khulna Region. The strategic partners for the project are Department of Youth and Development (DYD), National Youth Council (NYC), National Skills Development Authority (NSDA), Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB), USAID, ILO, EU, and the World Bank.
  • The “Bangladesh Integrated Youth Activity” Is a comprehensive Initiative focused on empowering and engaging young people in Bangladesh. It aims to address various aspects of youth development, including education, skill-building, employment, entrepreneurship, civic engagement, and social inclusion. Through this integrated approach, the program aims to provide opportunities and support systems that enable youth to thrive, contribute to society, and become active participants in the nation`s progress. The project focuses on the youth (18-35) who are not in education employment or training (NEET) and who are living at or below the poverty line (15% will be EET).
  • Reporting Person: Hub Coordinator and Program Manager
  • The Area Manager plays a critical role in coordinating and managing the activities of a district. The Area Manager works closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the program, including organizing events, facilitating collaborations, and supporting knowledge sharing initiatives. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the day-to-day activities of the assigned district, ensuring adherence to timelines and deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, work schedules, and progress reports to track program activities and milestones.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure effective coordination and implementation of program activities.
  • Facilitate regular meetings, workshops, and conferences to engage stakeholders and promote collaboration.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including partner organizations, government agencies, and community groups.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify their needs, interests, and areas for collaboration within the assigned district of the program.
  • Engage stakeholders in program activities, such as workshops, training sessions, and networking events.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for stakeholders, addressing inquiries, providing updates, and fostering ongoing communication.
  • Plan, organize, and execute events, including conferences, seminars, and workshops related to the assigned district.
  • Coordinate logistics, such as venue selection, event promotion, participant registration, and audio-visual requirements.
  • Collaborate with speakers, presenters, and facilitators to ensure smooth delivery of event sessions and presentations.
  • Manage event budgets, track expenses, and process invoices in accordance with financial guidelines and procedures.
  • Support knowledge sharing initiatives within the assigned district, including the development of resource materials, publications, and online platforms.
  • Collaborate with content contributors to gather, review, and edit materials for accuracy, clarity, and relevance.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of an online knowledge repository, ensuring easy access to resources and information.
  • Facilitate the dissemination of knowledge products, such as reports, case studies, and best practice guides.
  • Prepare regular reports and updates on program activities, outcomes, and achievements for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor program performance against established indicators and targets, identifying areas for improvement and proposing corrective actions.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of program impact, collecting feedback from stakeholders and participants, and analyzing data.
  • Coordinate collecting MIS and other M & E related reports to support Hub MEAL Manager.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in any discipline
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as international development, community development, development studies or project management is preferable.
  • Master’s degree or MBA is preferable.

  • Experience in event planning and management, including logistics coordination, budgeting, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Familiarity with knowledge management principles and tools.
  • Proficiency in using productivity and project management software.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • The willingness to work during flexible hours.
